This is a pastel painting 27.5" wide by 19.75" high done on velour paper. This painting was done from a photo when I went to Hawaii this past summer. We were staying in Kapalua and this was a view I quickly got used to while I was there.

Just Get Started

Hi, my name is Mike Major and I am an aspiring artist. I have been drawing and painting since I was 5. I am starting this blog to further my goal of becoming an artist. My goal is to post a painting every day. After doing this for a couple of months I am going to try to get into a daily painters website which will sell my work. But first, I must be able to show that I am capable of posting every day. I am painting every day but I am not currently finishing a painting every day. So I am going to cheat a little in the beginning. I have some paintings that I have already done that I will be posting. I am new to this painting everyday and posting it stuff; but what I have noticed is that the people who are doing it tend to paint really small. I tend to work a little larger than most for daily paintings. Anyway, at this point I am writing to myself and who cares right?
